Main Street Amherst is looking for vendors for our farmer’s market stands, artistic vendors, non-profits and classic car/truck owners to participate in our growing W.O.W. events this summer. Participate in one or all of them!

Spooky Pooch Parade

Details
Festivities begin with the Spooky Pooch Festival, starting at 12:30 p.m. at Madison Park, during which attendees can enjoy entertainment, food trucks, pumpkin painting for kids, and dog-related vendors and local businesses.

The parade commences at 2 p.m. Dogs of all shapes and sizes dressed in their finest Halloween fashions will strut their stuff for judges who award prizes including Best Pooch & Child, Best Pooch & Adult, Best Pooch & Group, Spookiest Pooch, and Best in Show. Best in Show wins a year's worth of dog food courtesy of Pet's General Store. Contestants must register and participate in the parade in order to be eligible to win a prize.

Rules:
All dogs must remain on a non-retractable leash. 6' max on all leashes. Rabies, PHLLP, and Bordetella vaccines must be current. All dogs must wear I.D. tags at all times. No dogs in heat, no aggressive dogs. No puppies under 4 months old or w/o vaccinations. Costumes must be safe and comfortable for dogs. Please be prepared to pick up after your dog.

Mending Hearts for Mason promotes education on suicide prevention and awareness. Named in honor of Mason Shemo, whose life was tragically cut short by suicide, Mending Hearts seeks to honor his memory by providing help and resources to those pursuing a career addressing the challenges of mental health.

Our mission is to end the stigma around mental health issues and suicide, provide critical resources to those in need, and foster a community of understanding and support. We are dedicated to educating society about the gravity of suicide and mental health issues, and the importance of providing accessible mental health care to vulnerable individuals.

Mending Hearts is dedicated not only to raising awareness but also to providing real solutions. We offer an annual scholarship to a student passionate about mental health issues and suicide prevention, helping them further their education and, in turn, their ability to make a difference.

Registration is now open for the 6th Annual Cleveland Stache Dash 5K/1M Fun Run-Walk to be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019. The event is sponsored by the North Ridgeville Parks & Recreation Department. Join us for Cleveland’s Premiere Celebration of the Stache – where your upper lip finally gets the attention it deserves. Can you think of a better excuse to stop shaving? Register by Monday, October 21 to guarantee you receive a hooded sweatshirt. Race bags to the first 300 who pre-register. Post-race refreshments will be provided. This is a family-friendly event! Proceeds from the race benefit the Parks & Recreation Department.
